Smokeshire Valley
Preserve is nestled in the
hillside, approximately
5 miles from the charming village of
Chester, VT. Situated in southern
Vermont, Chester provides access to a
wide variety of activities, including
recreational, dining, and cultural.
Residents and visitors enjoy nearby
golfing, skiing, shopping, fine dining,
fly fishing along the acclaimed
Battenkill River, attending plays in
nearby Weston,
and skiing some of New England’s best
terrain.
This quaint town is easily accessed from
the east off I-91 via Routes
10, 11, 35 and 103, as well as points
west via Route 11. Chester features an
active village center, replete with
B&B’s, shopping and dining
opportunities, a whole foods
café/market, and excellent bookstores.
Chester is easily within an hour’s drive
of a plethora of landmark locations and
activities, including: Springfield,
where major services and the regional

property include Magic Mountain
(20 minutes), and Mt. Ascutney
(45 minutes). The Chester
Snowmobile Club maintains local
trails that connect to the
Vermont VAST trail system,
providing access to hundreds of
miles of scenic trails used by
snowmobilers, Nordic skiers
and snowshoers alike.
Chester is
approximately 2 hours from
Hartford (CT) and Albany (NY), 2
hours 45 minutes from Boston
(MA), 4 hours from Montreal
(CA),
and 4 hours 15 minutes from New
York City. The closest regional
airport is Lebanon Municipal
Airport, located approximately
50 minutes by
car. However, private air
transportation can be arranged,
shortening travel time to the
property to approximately 25
minutes. Even closer to the
property is the Springfield
Municipal Airport, which
accommodates small private
aircraft. Larger airports within
reasonable driving distance
